Engineers, architects and a construction crew built our brand new bridge in only 3 and half months. As you can imagine, that bridge plays a huge role for us and for our guests as it connects the Lodge to our amazing primary tropical forest. Nature Photographer Bruno De Faveri at Selva Verde LodgeWednesday, October 21, 2009, 16:29 It was such a pleasure to meet nature photographer Bruno De Faveri at Selva Verde Lodge. Bruno is a renowned nature photographer from Italy that visited Selva Verde to take pictures and plan his upcoming photo workshop planned in 2010. It was so remarkable to meet someone from the same small region in Piedmont, Italy that my mother, Selva Verde Lodge founder Giovanna Holbrook, is from. He kindly offered to share some of his photos that are hot off the press with the Selva Verde Lodge online community. Enjoy the eye candy! All of it from the Selva Verde Lodge grounds! Costa Rican Bird RouteThursday, January 17, 2008, 10:14 We are proud to be a site on the Costa Rican Bird Route. The Birding Trail travels through the northern Sarapiqui/San Carlos region of Costa Rica. The trail consists of 13 reserves with 12 offical Costa Rican Bird Route Sites, Selva Verde being one of them. Almendro TreeThursday, January 10, 2008, 10:13 At one time, Almond trees were quite common in Costa Rica, but illegal logging has cut the numbers down severely. This poses a formidable threat to the green macaw, which uses the wild almond tree for nesting and mating.
