» Sarapiqui River Cruise
Sarapiqui River Cruise – 2 hrs.
Enjoy a relaxing boat ride on the Sarapiqui, observing life in and along the banks of the river. You'll pass both forested and agricultural lands to observe the activities of the people and animals whose lives are influenced by the flow of the waters. The boat guides are some of the best wildlife spotters on the river, so be sure to bring your binoculars and camera! The boat departs from the lively Puerto Viejo dock.

Serpentarium – 1 hour
Get to know the fascinating world of reptiles with a visit to the Sarapiqui Serpentarium. Enjoy comfortable close-up observation of a wide variety of native and exotic venomous and non-venomous snakes, lizards, and frogs, many of which inhabit the Sarapiqui rainforest.

» Discover Chocolate or Bat Tour
Discover Chocolate or Bat Tour – 2- 3 hrs.
Take an afternoon journey to the heart of chocolate, which comes from the cacao plant, and is native to Central America. You'll learn the history of cacao and chocolate and how it is traditionally cultivated. Take part in the process of how chocolate is made: from the bean to the treat, and then taste some fresh cocoa and chocolate candy.
Or
Spend an evening learning about bats at the bat research station at Tirimbina. You'll hear a lecture on the history and habits of bats, followed by close inspection of some live specimens, and learn how they are carefully caught in nets for observation and study. Experience the life of a biological researcher studying these fascinating nocturnal creatures.
