  Experience first hand the wonder of exploring a tropical rainforest. Enjoy a personalized and leisurely ramble through Selva Verde's 500 acre private reserve with our knowledgeable naturalist guides. Learn more than just the names of rainforest birds, plants and animals - discover their secret lives and fascinating natural histories.

• » Boat Ride on the Sarapiqui River

  Boat Ride on the Sarapiqui River - 2 hrs.

  Get to know the Sarapiqui area and enjoy a float down the Sarapiqui River through forested and agricultural areas full of wildlife. Your boat will depart from a lively Puerto Viejo dock, offering you the chance to experience village life in Costa Rica. Our boat guides are some of the best wildlife spotters on the river so be sure to bring your binoculars and camera!

  Banana Plantation - 2 hrs. or Discover Chocolate - 2 hrs.

  Ever wonder where those bananas in your kitchen come from? Chances are they come from the Sarapiqui region of Costa Rica. A visit to a DOLE banana plantation will give you the answer! Your guided tour will allow you to see the how Costa Rica bananas are grown, packaged, and shipped around the world.

  Discover how cacao seeds are transformed into the world's favorite sweet - chocolate! Visit a rainforest cacao plantation and learn about this native rainforest tree. Enjoy a taste of organic chocolate made by a local woman's group - the Associación de Mujeres Amazilia del Caribe.
