Early Morning Bird Walks at Selva Verde
Grab your binoculars and join our naturalist guide for an early morning bird walk on the grounds of Selva Verde. Morning is a very active time for the birds, so you can count on sighting several of the stunning tropical species that inhabit Selva Verde. Every morning is different, but they are all exciting! Your guide has a keen eye and a high-powered scope, so you can get close up views of birds you might not otherwise notice. Binoculars can be rented at reception.
Time: Daily at 6 am
Duration: 2 hours

Early Morning Bird Walk at La Selva OTS
Take an early morning private guided bird walk at La Selva Organization for Tropical Studies. La Selva is a research station adjacent to the Braulio Carrillo National Park and boasts an impressive array of avian species and expert guides. While watching for birds, you’re likely to come across other wildlife active at dawn.
Time: 5:45 am (by reservation only)
Duration: 2 hours
Cost: $42 per person
Transportation: $40 round trip (1-4 passengers)

Learn more than just the names of rainforest plants and animals - discover their secret lives and fascinating natural histories. Be on the look out for monkeys, mot-mots, toucans, and poison dart frogs, and remember to bring your camera!

Sarapiqui Birding Hot Spots
Get out your birdlist and explore the best birding spots in the Sarapiqui with a private local guide and driver. Our guides have the birding skills and insider local’s knowledge of the area that can’t be beat. Spend a half day or full day scouting and observing birds in the magical fields and forests of the Sarapiqui, including Quebrada Gonzalez or Virgen del Socorro. Bring your binoculars and camera!
Time: half day or full day 8 a.m. or 1 p.m.
Duration: 4 or 8 hours
Cost: Half day - $85 w/o transportation, $235 w/ transportation
Full day - $165 w/o transportation, $305 with transportation
Maximum 6 guests per guide and driver

How To Plan Your Activities
Green Season (May 1 - 31st, Aug 1 - Dec 14th)
For individuals or small groups, most activities may be booked with 24 hours notice during the green season.
High Season (Dec 15 - Apr 30, Jun 1 - Jul 31)
Please make advanced reservations during the high season by contacting us.
Groups
For 5 or more people, please make advance reservations by contacting us.
